Glendale City Council has eroded support and morale for Glendale Police.

Choosing speed cameras over motorcycle cops:

  • A visible police presence deters violent and property crimes besides speeding. Speed cameras are not a deterrent.

  • Hiring cops creates local jobs; these camera vendors are located out-of-state.

Misguided solutions that increase congestion and decrease safety:

  • Councilmembers are removing lanes of traffic and replacing them with dedicated bike and bus lanes.

  • Fewer lanes of traffic on larger arteries (Brand, Central, Glenoaks) will force cut-through traffic on residential streets.

  • Using bicycle lanes as a calming measure: would you want your child serving as a human shield to slow down drivers?
